A Little Fox Called Anger

When in anger, do you take quick actions? Do you say words you know you should not have said? Do your actions make you a better or a worse person? Eccl7:9 says that Anger labels you a fool which is why you must learn how to control it. Even the book of Ephesians 4:26-27 say, do not sin by letting anger control you, do not also let the sun go down while you are still angry for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Don’t forget that the devil is very smart, cunny and deceptive. He knows that the human heart is desperately wicked which means that that wickedness is in us but as Christians we should not let it come out. Therefore, with this knowledge that the devil has, he will then try in numerous ways to cause havoc by sending people or things to you that would annoy you in every area of your life thereby triggering that anger. This is because the devil knows that in that state of anger, we may lose it and start displaying all the attributes that he (devil) wants to see.

As Christians, we should be smarter than the devil; we should not fall for his plots. When people annoy you, there is a reason why you should not make hasty decisions or actions because you may send out the Holy Spirit who is meant to guide you. Do not underestimate the capability of a desperately wicked heart.

Remember, they did all manner of things to Jesus and he did not act back in anger, instead he prayed. It could also be that God is testing you to see if you have that spirit of patience and love in you. Proverbs 14:29 People with understanding control their anger, but a hot temper shows great foolishness and Proverbs 29:11 fools vent their anger but the wise quietly holds it back. Finally, as it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32, get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Challenge Accepted!

                                      Challenge Accepted!

James 1:2-4: "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
Thomas A Edison: I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Challenges in some situations and circumstances in life are sometimes inevitable, it possibly makes you willing and desperate to achieve that which you desire and on the contrary could also make one forfeit hope.

Do these sound familiar? Life is HARD, it’s too DIFFICULT, people expect just too much from me, do they want me to kill myself, I CAN’T do it, Is it me that killed Jesus that I must do all of these, My brain is not made for that kind of thing, somebody just kill me now, I QUIT, Its OVER etc. Most certainly these are familiar and regular statements children of God make every day.   You know how we panic, worry, stress ourselves and almost want to give up? If only you just take 60seconds/ a little time to breath and calm down, you will be surprised to know that you still have life within you and ahead of you.

I wish to let you know that Life is not hard neither is it difficult. On the contrary it is very easy! It will be easy if you know what it is you are doing. There are multiple examples of people who have found life easy but of course had to go through setbacks, disappointments and failures. Oh I believe everyone hates challenges, failure, disappointment and the likes of it but instead, everyone loves on Success (which is a good thing). Nevertheless REMEMBER failure is not really failure, it’s just another chance for you to try again! What you are is as a result of the choices you must have made, either to sink with disappointments or to take the challenge and move again.

When you reflect on whatever it is that you are doing, and you realise why you are doing it, probably because you will gain at the end of it, or in order for you to be happy…etc you actually become more inspired to keep pushing.  Hope is very vital and you can’t afford to lose it.

Keep pushing; accept those challenges that come your way as it’s only going to make you stronger for tomorrow. I encourage you to dream, plan, prioritize, take steps and be hopeful because the greatest failure in life is to doubt yourself and stop trying. It will definitely be worth it at the end!

The Beauty of Complexity

In a discussion I had with one of my very many smart friends one of who has the opinion that the Law is apparently black and white. The black and white phrase means obviously clear enough to identify right and wrong. Oh yes of course, we would all expect the law to be straight forward but I want to let you know that there is a whole lot to the term and the provisions of 'LAW'.
Understanding the sources of complexity in legal systems is a matter which has been long considered by various legal commentators. The Complexity of Law is the tendency for a matter or decision or rule to become more complex over time and at the same time becomes more debatable and has been highly commented on. One can imagine the amount of legal scholars or commentators that have developed different methods or approaches to deal with these complexities but notwithstanding, it's still present.

When I read through legislations and cases, I try to understand what could possibly have influenced the decisions or the provisions and if it is open to any possible modifications. The number of pages of legislations and case judgements have been in constant increase which then makes it difficult, even for those deeply involved with legislation, to know what is going on. However, these are the only ways we (I mean every other human being) can assume and try to understand the law and its complexities.
It is important to note that not every other individual except of course those interested in the legal system will have in one way or the other noticed that there are several issues in the Law that seems outrageous. In order to discuss this topic I guess it will be ideal to probably write a book or some dissertation/thesis on it, however I would just give some illustrations oh how complex the law is and could even get if it is not modified.

1] One of the most uncommon complexity would be The Sexual Offences Act 2003. This Act explicitly talks about rape amongst many other things, saying that only women are capable of raping. This may seem very odd as of course only a woman can rape as she has no Penis.
I Quote 'A person commits an offence (Rape) if—he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person with his penis, B does not consent to the penetration, and A does not reasonably believe that B consents'.
I guess we all fail to realise the question as to why must the penetration only be by the penis. Penetration can be by any means like your hands could also penetrate. Also what if the male does not intend to rape but is induced by the woman (woman giving him something to drink which makes the penis to erect). would that be classified as a rape by a man or a woman. Although she has no penis to penetrate but she has caused the erection of the penis to penetrate and forcefully rapes the man. As awkward and absurd this sounds, it is also very unheard of for a man to claim that he was raped by a woman.

2] The other provision is the Law of Property Act 1925. This Act is seriously outdated and should really be modified. It says that a disposition of an equitable interest at the time of disposing it must be in writing and signed by the person disposing off the same. Cases like Grey v IRC, Vandervell and Oughtred n IRC have been caught up in the mess of this provision. In all three cases they all decided to transfer equitable title in their respective properties by oral directions and ideally they should not be liable for Advalorem stamp duty (tax) which of course is payable when a disposition is done by way of writing and also signed.

The point I am trying to point out of this provision is that it states that a disposition must be in writing and signed so why do I have to pay tax over a disposition I did orally. Oh and trust the Inland Revenue Commissioner's (I.R.C) to always claim for their taxes. This Act is since 1925 and things are obviously changing so also should the Act because I'm sincerely amazed it's still in force today. According to Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in 'The Future if Man' The more complex a being is, so our Scale of Complexity tells us, the more it is centred upon itself and therefore the more aware does it become. In other words, the higher the degree of complexity in a living creature, the higher its impact on things these living creatures do. Certainly they are not Gods and obviously will not be able to ascertain problems of the future but should however not fail to recognize that some certain provisions are just too old and need to be amended.
This indeed is just a short description of what goes around my head as a potential Lawyer and I hope it has also stirred some thoughts in your minds because we all deserve to understand how and why a decision is regarded as the truth and final truth.
Truth be told, there are just certain laws that are too ridiculous to ignore...check out this page http://www.elistmania.com/juice/10_most_ridiculous_laws_from_around_the_world/

Letters To A Law Student....

Good things in Life really do not come easy.
Do not get this message wrong, Law is an amazing course with a Blissful career prospect.
However, I believe Education is simply and ought-rightly overatted but I guess I sort of see the point to it. I have been meaning to write a letter to the law students around the Globe as I am one myself but I reckoned it would be better to write when I have engaged with the degree and had some form of righthand experience.
Merely thinking of a career in Law I would say is Bravery because you have no idea whatsoever what you would be in for as you can only IMAGINE and ASSUME which is obviously not the same as PARTICIPATING.

Dear Law Student,

In deciding to choose a career in Law, be well aware that it is not as difficult as it may seem or as people make it sound but it is a massive ton of work. When I say MASSIVE, I literarily mean MASSIVE!!!!!!!. Thinking about studying Law or practicing as a Barrister or a Solicitor, you need some form of hard-core determination spirit (not like the one I started off with). It is a very demanding line of degree and career and if one does not understand this there obviously would be a problem along the line.
There are several things you need to know on how to study for a law degree at the University (although I am fully aware that learning methods vary) but this is actually a DOPE method. I have been trying it out as well as my friends and trust me it works like magic :)

1] How do you approach your work: Rest assured if you have no interest in the degree/module/topic or whatever, it might be difficult getting your pretty head around it. In essence, you need to cultivate a positive, willing and if possible geeky love for that degree. U just gotta love every bit of it, because if you do, it makes your approach to the work very interesting.

2] Love the Sources: OH as much as we love the internet (Dunno if you have ever imagined life without the internet) you never know what you can possibly find on there till you search. The internet is the No1 source I would absolutely rate 100% provided you use it wisely. You can obviously get simplified cases, notes, teaching (made simple) videos etc on the internet. Oh yes and those cases and statutes, articles/journals, you never want to do without them as academic commentary and authority based provisions are a big deal in this degree. Familiarize yourself with as many as you can and as time goes by, I promise you it will gradually begin to make sense (obviously...if not then O_o).

3] The Smart & Beautiful Teachers: Some Teachers are not exactly the best (exam periods) but they are (getting the most out of them) if you get what I mean. I am most certainly a very long way from ever becoming a teacher but I actually believe that some of them do really try while some others..... Right, my point being, as a law student, you gotta make your teachers your cool pals (friends). As much as possible you need to get the most out of them as I have come to realise that is the best period they can tell you what they do not tell the whole bunch of other students in the lecture/class. Do not worry if you are being mocked/made jest off, just make sure you familiarize yourself with them because you most definitely would be glad you did at the end of your degree plus when you start your career.

4] The Bitter/Sweet Examination period:  I have intentionally included a paradox in my sub title 'bitter/sweet' because that is usually the feeling. OK it is important you know that you most definitely would not be writing some random objective questions (tick 'A, B, C, D, E.....nahhh). However, you would under severe exam conditions of 2hrs/2:15hrs or 3hrs maximum I think be writing essay questions or answering problem scenarios :) (Very good isn't it? I don't think so).  Here is what I propose......... (i) Engage yourself in some serious INDEPENDENT study (ii) meet with a group of course-mates who are keen on leaving the University with a distinction and y'all begin to tackle some past questions (time yourselves with proper examination conditions) (iii) past questions and discussions are very vital as it basically prepares you for the exam. These three steps have kept and is still keeping my reading mates and I in good shape.

Law is actually an interesting degree you can most times relate it to real life experiences (goodbye ignorance) which basically sticks with you and makes you want to try out some of what you have been taught. I have indeed been experimenting my commercial law, criminal law and law of torts study on my daily living and it is pretty amazing to know there is a law for every single thing everyone does everyday.
If by now, you are scared or having second thoughts/doubts I am glad as I have succeeded in ensuring that you really give taking a career in Law a great thought.
If you make up your mind and equally find yourself studying Law at the University, then Bravo to you, and if you follow my steps in this letter or any accurate learning strategies you develop, your degree would certainly be blissful (which every student wishes for).
Three years down the line, the degree is done and the only thing left is thinking about your future and MOVING ON!

Positive Impact

Challenges in some situations and circumstances in life are sometimes inevitable, it possibly makes you willing and desperate to achieve that which you desire and on the contrary could also make one forfeit hope. It’s however ridiculous and contradicting that no one ever wishes to face challenges because it is viewed as a though time of one’s life. I urge people to dream big as I have learnt it is absolutely not a crime or an impossibility to dream. Always have that vision and goal which you aim to achieve in life. On every journey in life towards greatness, there are obstacles, barriers, mountains, call it anything, but what makes a successful journey at the end of the day is the ability to be able to see beyond that mountain and take the necessary steps to conquer it and move over to the other side. A friend approached me some time ago and was going through a difficult time of whether or not to partake in a scholarship competition at his school. He was not the determined, serious or motivated type to imagine how difficult it would be to persuade or convince him on the necessary steps to take and how important an opportunity like this can be. A life in the University had already begun for him at an early age studying Law. Basically he had concluded that he would not be able to partake in the recent scholarship event at his school and even if he does, will have no chance of winning. I was really moved by this opportunity because he is an individual who would passionately do something he is interested in but if not interested would simply not just be bothered about it. The topic of the scholarship article involved criminal offences and the law reform on it. I was very much aware that he had an extraordinary passion for this part of the law as he was always on the issue of why he finds it difficult to understand why some individuals are convicted and why in particular they commit those crimes, but the absurd part was that he never really believed in himself for once. The closing date for the final entry was fast approaching and he had already made up his mind about not making an entry.  I went back to reflect on this great opportunity that my friend was about to throw away and I came up with a strategy. Growing up, I became more and more conscious of the path I had unknowingly created for myself and I began to see reasons why I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. At an early age I took interest in how the engine of a car works, the whole concept of it was really sophisticated to me and I wanted to have answers to my questions desperately. I addressed the scholarship competition as a mountain and that if he was able to see the goal that he could possibly achieve, that mountain would become his stepping stone because he would now be empowered with a greater zeal and passion to climb that mountain. Although it is not that easy but it’s much better to remain positive in such circumstances. This tactics goes for every situation or circumstance you find yourself as you run the race of life. I went ahead to narrate my dreams and goal in life to him, behold he was astonished that I had such great dreams and became more interested in giving the article writing an attempt. I had to make him understand that it does not actually hurt to attempt something whether great or not, this is because no one knows what the outcome would be. As Charles Kettering said it doesn’t matter if you try and try and try and fail, but what will matter is if you try and fail but fail to try again’. There really is no harm in trying as I have learnt personally that a person cannot be perfected without trials and of all the saddest words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these ‘it might have been’. Winston Church Hill nevertheless also said ‘I’ve never failed at anything in my life; I was simply given another opportunity to get it right. This whole illustration actually made my friend have a turn around and a change of heart concerning how to take opportunities when they come and not consider ever failing at it. He became more determined and focused on what he wanted to become in future and believed that this scholarship competition could be a stepping stone to his success in life. Consequently, he did plan for this article, made relevant researches, conducted significant and consistent surveys and then wrote the article. The result for this scholarship was released and my friend toped as the second best in his school. This news came to him as astonishment; he was very much excited and could not believe what in this world made him to ever doubt himself. He obviously had me to thank as he owed his determination and focus to my words of advice. I was really pleased to have impacted my friend in such a fantastic way because I always see myself as a very motivational person and thinking less of myself or believing I would never make it was never a thought that crossed my mind once. My strategy is to dream, plan, prioritize, take steps and be hopeful because the greatest failure in life is to doubt yourself and stop trying.

Life As We Know It!!!!

'ONE OF THEM'.
This is a common phrase in life especially in this generation or century of ours. Although I know some people do happen to flare up when they are being told 'you are ow one of them', I also happen to have seen that others are very indifferent about the phrase. How about you?
Hmm the things we do. You never thought it would be this way right? Whatever situation or circumstance you find yourself presently in that you wish you had ever gotten into, how else did you think it was going to turn out. We are being corrupted by the world each day especially the society we live in. There are no feelings attached to what we do anymore which makes matters worse. It becomes a usual phenomenon but abnormal and unusual in the some human minds. We are being degraded to this level of insanity because there is a chance of us going wilder than our slightest imagination which then makes us the bad guys, a tag we dreaded very much and never wanted. So it’s majorly true, they can never be just friends, some things are just better left unsaid, some things are not even meant to happen, sometimes we need to take the road that has been deserted, sometimes we need to be alone in order to figure out and shape our lives and unfortunately these things don’t always work out because we are not in the movies, its reality. No one does care about it anyways, which makes us as guilty as the experts. No, I believe there is still a way out because I do not wish to be part of this mess that people have created for themselves. As much as we all hate to be cheated, we wouldn't want one to feel cheated because of us. Although, your mind is set but trust me this is not the way forward. We still have a conscience and life is what we make of it because shit will always happens and this can be avoided by excellent discernment.
There are something’s that can wait and some others that cannot wait. How ironic is it that we do those things that can wait in replacement of those that cannot wait. Life is just what we know not. I guess the problem lies not in what we see but how we see it.  Gosh why do we actually do the things we do? Why is the human mind so crazy? It baffles me because we have no answer whatsoever for it and how pathetic could that be? You try hard not to embody the tag you always dreaded and then when it’s on you it then becomes hard to take off. How do you possibly exempt yourself from the crowd you forced yourself into, when everyone believes each other to be of the same feather. There is no dispute in the fact that majority of us are in need of the spirit of discernment...........So help us God.
