When in anger, do you take quick actions? Do you say words
you know you should not have said? Do your actions make you a better or a worse
person? Eccl7:9 says that Anger labels you a fool which is why you must learn
how to control it. Even the book of Ephesians 4:26-27 say, do not sin by
letting anger control you, do not also let the sun go down while you are still
angry for anger gives a foothold to the devil. Don’t forget that the devil is
very smart, cunny and deceptive. He knows that the human heart is desperately
wicked which means that that wickedness is in us but as Christians we should
not let it come out. Therefore, with this knowledge that the devil has, he will
then try in numerous ways to cause havoc by sending people or things to you
that would annoy you in every area of your life thereby triggering that anger.
This is because the devil knows that in that state of anger, we may lose it and
start displaying all the attributes that he (devil) wants to see.
As Christians, we should be smarter than the devil; we
should not fall for his plots. When people annoy you, there is a reason why you
should not make hasty decisions or actions because you may send out the Holy
Spirit who is meant to guide you. Do not underestimate the capability of a
desperately wicked heart.
Remember, they did all manner of things to Jesus and he did
not act back in anger, instead he prayed. It could also be that God is testing
you to see if you have that spirit of patience and love in you. Proverbs 14:29
People with understanding control their anger, but a hot temper shows great
foolishness and Proverbs 29:11 fools vent their anger but the wise quietly
holds it back. Finally, as it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32, get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as
well as all types of evil behaviour. Instead, be kind to each other,
tender-hearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven
you.
